An exhibition to celebrate 20 years of Tenterden Folk Festival
To celebrate twenty years of Tenterden Folk Festival we have joined with Tenterden and District Museum to stage a special exhibition.
We are collecting together a wide range of exhibits including;
- The Wingham Hooden Horse (circa 1870) loaned by Maidstone Museum
- Morris kit loaned by Woodchurch Morris Men
- Ladies kit loaned by Loose Women Morris
- Historic musical instruments
- Photos taken at the Festival over the last 20 years
- We also aim to include other exciting exhibits which we will announce once they are in place.
The exhibition will run from Easter to October at Tenterden Museum in Station Road, Tenterden TN30 6HN.
In the mean time we would be interested to hear from anyone who has any potential exhibits, old photographs of local Maypole dancers, Morris dancers or other local folk traditions from previous centuries or information about local folklore, traditions or folk songs and music.
